Vox PopulA.I is a living dialogue between past and future, where the voices of tradition meet the algorithms of tomorrow. Situated in the newly developed outdoor space at Science Centre Singapore, this interactive sculpture unites sound, sculpture, and artificial intelligence in an ever-evolving choral performance.
Five towering horns sing in harmony, generating melodies and lyrics in real time through a uniquely trained AI system. Rooted in the ancient sounds of local folk traditions, the melodies are shaped by machine learning—an echo of history transformed by cutting-edge technology. As each performance unfolds, the sculpture weaves together human heritage and artificial creativity, reflecting the fluid, unpredictable nature of AI.
Visitors become part of this ongoing composition by interacting with the grey ‘conductor’ sculpture. Speaking or singing into it influences the AI’s learning process, allowing the machine to listen, adapt, and evolve. Every voice leaves an imprint, feeding into the system’s data bank and shaping future performances—an ever-growing chorus of human and machine.
